CONRE
For presenting construction projects to potential customers, standard photorealistic visualization is only one aspect. Visualizing additional, partly non-geometric data of the project like installations, per-object costs, illumination calculations, measurements, and heat-flow calculations, in such a way that the data can be easily interpreted by the viewer, is an equally important aspect. In order to improve the usefulness of all of these information visualizations, an important aspect is interactivity. By concentrating on interactive visualization methods as opposed to static images of a building, it is possible to improve the ease with which the user can understand the relation of the additional data to the geometric model of a building. Thus this project aims to integrate advanced interactive content visualization methods into a standard CAD visualization system.
Solution/Newness
One of the major improvements compared to similar systems is a tightly integrated global illumination framework for simulating the flow of light from each light source in a building, and allowing for real-time walk-troughs of correctly illuminated buildings.
