The projects aims at developing a software framework for the automatic orientation, classification and 3D reconstruction from aerial images.

During the course of the project a prototype software for automated aerial triangulation, calssification and 3D modelling will be implemented At the end of the project the following steps will be possible:

  • Automatic aerial triangulation: employing a POI (point of interest) matching approach to set up potential correspondences and a fast outlier rejection mechanism
  • 3D model of cities and landscapes: implementation of a dense multi-ray matching algorithm
  • Land use classification (LUC): automatic classification of land use (vegetation, water, road, building, etc.) will be achieved
