DI Dr. Gerd Hesina is managing director of the VRVis Center for Virtual Reality and Visualization Research-GmbH since 2016. He is also a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien and at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg. He has more than 25 years of experience in research and development of software algorithms and interactive real-time applications and 15 years of experience as project manager. Dr. Hesina is author and co-author of numerous internationally peer-reviewed scientific publications and has participated in many national (e.g. Bridge, FIT-IT, ways2go, KIRAS, Kplus, COMET) as well as international (EU FP7, ESA) projects and has acquired and managed several of them. Dr. Hesina studied computer science at the TU Vienna. He received the title Dipl.-Ing. in 1997 and Dr. techn. in 2001.
