Maria Wimmer studied Medical Informatics at Vienna University of Technology and received her M.Sc in 2015. She is a researcher in the Biomedical Image Informatics group at VRVis, working in the field of computer-aided detection and diagnosis. She is developing machine learning and deep learning algorithms for the localization, labeling and classification of anatomical structures and abnormalities in medical image data, e.g. MRI, CT and X-ray.
