As part of the Digital City initiative, the City of Vienna honors outstanding women in IT with the Hedy Lamarr Award. Johanna Schmidt, researcher in the Visual Analytics group, has been nominated for this prestigious award as well as Sophia Ulonska, researcher in the Biomedical Image Informatics group! A three-member jury selects from a list of around 20 scientific projects currently being curated by the Austrian Science Fund FWF and the Vienna Science, Research and Technology Fund (WWTF).
The prize will be awarded during the DigitalDays, which will take place from 4 to 5 November 2019 at the Erste Campus near Vienna Central Station. Under the motto "Vienna on the way to becoming the digitisation capital in Europe", the DigitalDays 2019 will focus on the latest trends and the most burning issues relating to FutureTech and digitisation. Participation is free of charge. Further information and the possibility to register can be found on the DigitalDays website.
We keep our fingers crossed!
