Between basic research and applied research

CEO of the VRVis Gerd Hesina in an interview in the current dossier of APA Science, which deals with the benefits and challenges of basic research on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Austrian Science Fund FWF. In the article titled "One and one makes three: do not divide research" he looks back on two decades of successful VRVis, in which the balancing act between basic research and applied research has succeeded. In order for Austria to be able to continue playing in the forefront of European and international research in the future, Gerd Hesina advocates stronger research commitment, more financial resources and more support of young talent.
