Visdom is a simulation-based decision support system for environmental modelling, with a focus on water management. Recent applications and directives in climate change adaptation pose new challenges to the capabilities of the Visdom software components. From the modelling side, we have seen an increasing demand on the accuracy, details, and size of our simulation scenarios. Still, the user workflow should remain as simple as possible and results should be delivered on-the-fly to enable interactive exploration and planning. From the visualization perspective, we have been repeatedly asked to deliver the interface and visual results through browser-based clients which support many users at the same time. Visualizations and interface complexity in these clients must be adapted according to the expertise of the current user, ranging from technicians to the general public.
To address these challenges, we continue our research and developments in the area of simulation-based decision support. All results will be implemented as modules and extensions of the VRVis Visdom framework. The project partners StEB, RIOCOM and HAMBURG WASSER will use Visdom and the planned features in their daily work for various applications in the water domain. These applications include:

Heavy rainfall events are increasing throughout Europe. In the EU project RAINMAN, VRVis has developed an interactive model to visualize the course and consequences of possible flood scenarios caused by heavy rainfall for the city of Graz.
Visdom's hydrodynamic simulations provide precise water level predictions at any point on a water surface in the "PegelAlarm" app.
