The International Institute for Information Design (IIID) works as a global design network to highlight the importance of comprehensible and well communicated information for everyday life, business, education and science. In addition to lively international event and conference activities, the IIID has created the IIID Award to bring outstanding information design projects from around the world before the curtain.
After winning in the "Social Affairs" category in 2020 for the inclusive digitization project ARCHES, in which VRVis developed IT solutions for accessible art education in museums, the work of the Multiple Senses group was again honored this year. The inclusive tactile panoramia relief, developed by VRVis together with the Schlossberg Museum in Graz, was awarded in the category "Universal Design" not only for its inclusive design approach, but also for its worldwide unique translation of perspective and view into a tangible panoramic image. As part of the museum's permanent exhibition, it demonstrates every day how well inclusively designed tactile reliefs can create panoramic views for all people, regardless of their accessibility needs or age group.
Following the award ceremony of the IIID Awards, supported by the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Public Service and Sport, at the Visionplus conference on May 25, 2023 at the Designforum Vienna, the winning projects will be presented in a traveling exhibition in several countries.
