Promoting young talent is essential for the next generation of female researchers
Promoting young talent is more than just lip service at VRVis: as a COMET research center, we see inspiring young people for science and technology as one of our most important tasks. This is why we have been regularly opening our doors at Daughters' Day for over 10 years and introducing interested schoolgirls to careers in technology in order to get them interested in a career in the STEM field.
At this year's Daughters' Day, the girls were able to try out virtual reality and talk to several female researchers about career paths. The social contribution of computer science was also on the agenda; tactile reliefs and multimedia guides, which bring art closer to visually impaired and blind people, demonstrated to the primary school girls how technology makes our lives easier and better.
Viennese Deputy Mayor Kathrin Gaál gets a taste of virtual reality at VRVis
Vienna's Deputy Mayor and Women's City Councillor Kathrin Gaál also visited VRVis. She attended part of the Daughters' Day program: She immersed herself in the world of virtual reality and let herself be inspired by inclusive digitalization for museums.
