The project team of AMBAVis and the Belvedere Vienna invited on 12.10.2010 to experience a famous art object in barrier-free form. Within the framework of the EU project, innovative 3D technologies have been developed over the past two years to make museum objects accessible to blind and visually impaired people. Among other things, VRVis has created a tactile relief from the painting "The Kiss" by Gustav Klimt from the Belvedere. This famous art object is now available for the first time to blind and visually impaired people in a barrier-free version.
Project partners are under the coordination of Economica Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (AT) the VRVis Zentrum für Virtual Reality und Visualisierung Forschungs-GmbH (AT), the Austrian Gallery Belvedere (AT), the Austrian Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (AT), the German Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DE), the Manchester Museum/University of Manchester (GB) and the NGO Trnka (SK).
