On 7 May 2019, the European Day of the WKO Foreign Trade took place. Under the motto "The European Dream" there were several panel discussions and keynotes as well as B2B discussions, all of which were dedicated to the topic technologies and future in Europe. At the evening part of the event there was a keynote by bestselling author and historian Yuval Noah Harari, Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and WKÖ President Harald Mahrer.
The VRVis was also represented on the podium at the breakout session on artificial intelligence. Johanna Schmidt, newest member of the Visual Analytics research group, discussed with representatives from business and industry how and whether AI can be the innovation accelerator for European companies. On the basis of concrete projects and use cases, which VRVis implemented together with its business partners in the past, she explained the potential of the technology and gave detailed examples of how the Visual Analytics research area aims to close the gap between data processing and AI methods.
