The Harris Matrix is a de facto standard method for the documentation of excavation projects. The Harris Matrix Composer is a software tool to create and manage Harris Matrices and well accepted in the community. In this project the tool is extended to enable dating of findings assigned to stratigraphic layers of the excavation. The visualization of both the stratigraphic relations and the dating is not trivial and demands research on visual analytics concepts. Furthermore an interface to a GIS and an interactive 3D viewer will be established to enable linked views between these tool, which allows a comprehensive scientific analysis.
