Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Harald Piringer

Dr. Harald Piringer studied Informatics at the Vienna University of Technology specializing in computer graphics. After finishing the master degree in 2003, he has been working at the VRVis research center in Vienna, where he has become the head of the research area Visual Analysis in 2010. His research focuses on designing and building interactive visual systems to support tasks like data quality assessment, decision making, and predictive modelling. His research group has been collaborating with partner companies from multiple industries, including automotive, manufacturing, energy, finance, aviation, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, and facility management. Dr. Piringer got his PhD sub auspiciis praesidentis from the Vienna University of Technology in 2012, and has (co-)authored more than 25 publications so far, including the high-impact journals IEEE TVCG and Computer Graphics Forum. He won the best paper awards at EuroVis 2011 and IEEE VAST 2013. He regularely speaks at conferences, recently he held a lecture on the topic of Process Analysis.
